Visiting Artists Teaching Program
The ISEA2012 Visiting Artists Teaching Program is developed in partnership with Explora, New Mexico Highlands University, The Harwood Museum, The Hawrood Art Center and the National Hispanic Cultural Center. It will bring a variety of adventurous STEM + Art workshops to Albuquerque and Taos, which will culminate in presentations during Intel Education Day of the conference, where students and teachers will have a chance to investigate and then share some of the newest technologies in artmaking.
ISEA2012 STEMArts competition Design your Future
Design Your Future is a statewide competition for middle and high school students, offering great prizes and the opportunity for young people to be a part of this exciting international event. Encouraging students to imagine, daydream and ponder ideas for the future is the goal of this competition. Students are being asked to visualize their ideas for the future by exploring the conference themes of ISEA2012 such as Machine Wilderness, Transportation, the Cosmos and Wildlife, among others. The students' images will be collaged to form a web-based digital art piece that will be presented at the ISEA2012 conference. Teachers can download a lesson plan that provides activity suggestions, resources and tips to engage students. Great prizes will be awarded and teachers can win free passes to Intel Education Day.
Bring the excitement of ISEA2012 to your classroom
The ISEA2012 conference brings together the best new media artists from around the world. We are developing an ISEA2012 STEMArts curriculum for middle and high school students. These hands-on activities are based on conference themes and content. The curriculum will be available free on this website under the Creative Commons license, starting during the conference and it will remain available long-term. The STEMArts approach encourages a collaborative exchange between the arts and STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Stay tuned!
