SpeakingHere

SpeakingHere  is a GPS controlled narrative walk in Banff, Alberta and was completed during a residency at the Banff New Media centre in 2004.

Eleven people, each speaking a different language, describe the landscape as seen through a small studio window as though trying to speak what they see into view.   Their descriptions, along with repetitive video pans of the same area shot daily for a week, are “embedded” into the same landscape (Paula Levine, 2012).

Visit the project's website to hear all the languages and descriptions of the landscape.

This is another great recommendation by the artist Harry Leiva.
