American Modeling Teachers Association (AMTA)

Modeling Instruction has been under development since 1990 guided by David Hestenes (Emeritus Professor of Physics, Arizona State University). The method aims to address many of the limitations of more traditional methods e.g. lecture-demonstration method, the fragmentation of knowledge, student passivity, and the persistence of naive beliefs about the physical world.

The association has consiered the Next Generation Science Standards and have provided an overview.
