Space [XR] Station Lands at Atomic 66

Space [XR] Station is an immersive sci-art experience that explores the intersection of space, technology, and youth creativity.

We’re excited to bring a SPACE[XR] Station to this year’s Atomic 66 Festival in Albuquerque —”Where Space, tech, ART, and Culture Meet for a week of innovation along Route 66. This isn’t just a conference–it’s a gathering of Innovators, Creatives, the curious, and the ones bold enough to think they can reshape tomorrow.”

STEMarts invites festival-goers to experience space-inspired artworks through a series of interactive Augmented Reality (AR) stations, located inside the historic Lobo Theater and along Central Avenue. These digital creations were designed by STEMarts students and artists working with STEMarts Lab, blending artistic expression with space science. Participants can use their phones to activate each AR station, unveiling animations and stories that reflect on humanity’s evolving relationship with space. From speculative astro-suits to cosmic landscapes, each piece offers a unique lens into the imagination of the next generation of space thinkers.

This project highlights the power of 3D modeling and immersive technology to inspire new ways of learning, seeing, and engaging with science through art. Join us at Atomic 66 to experience the future of space storytelling — shaped by students, powered by AR, and grounded in the arts.
